It’s true what John says: I did like the Sonoma Cutrer finish Woodford Master’s, and still do. It’s a light, slightly fruity bourbon that nice on a hot afternoon (like today, actually, and I might just knock the level down a bit). But I can see where some might not like it. I’m kinda with ya on the WT Sherry, far as that goes, Steve.
But bad whisky? I had a sip from a really musty bottle of Old Forester that was my dad’s from the 1970s; hardly fair. But Tangle Ridge…whuff, what a mawkishly sweet whisky. Had to spit it out. Still the Zero Mark on my whisky scale. Although the sip of “Glob Kitty Special Blend” Scotch whisky I had at the Frankfort airport was exceptionally horrid.
Hmm ... war wohl der Renner am Flughafen Frankfurt.There was only one terrible blended whisky at the airport bar in Frankfurt ... but even that made a good story: No one should ever taste a Whisky named "Glob Kitty" - even on a dare.
noch jung und fidel war, gab es einmal einen Abend, an dem wir über mehrere Runden Whiskeys blindverkostet haben. Der "Höhepunkt" war immer eine - naja - nahezu zitronengelbe Flüssigkeit, durch deren Geruch bereits Furcht und Argwohn aufkamen: Glob Kitty Whiskey. Spontane Unmutäußerungen und Unverständniskundgebungen, bzw. gelegentliches Röcheln und Würgen (der JesuZ und der Grent waren da recht gut darin) gaben der Veranstaltung einen masochistischen Touch (obwohl andere Whiskeys, wie der Glenmorangie 10 years old, ziemlich gut waren!).
